QLA on Political Lobbies

President Eisenhower said "beware of the military/industrial complex". He was talking about the armaments lobby which bankrolls presidents/politicians in their election and re-election provided they pursue government policies which lead us into war and thus the sale of their products. Apart from the armaments industry, the tobacco lobby wants to sell its deadly products, the road transport lobby wants road transport in preference over rail, etc. More about this under "Don't Blame the Pollies; Fix the System".
